1. This ammonite is the ancestor many modern creatures. Do you know of any modern creatures that look like this?
2. What were the advantages of having a shell like this?
3. Ammonites were not on the Earth at the same time as humans but if they were how would feel about swimming in the sea filled with these? (Some were the size of large dogs!)

1. This ammonite is the ancestor many modern creatures. Do you know of any modern creatures that look like this?
ANSWER: snails and many shelled animals called ‘Mollusks’ often look like this.
2. What were the advantages of having a shell like this?
ANSWER: the animal could protect itself very quickly
3. Ammonites were not on the Earth at the same time as humans but if they were how would feel about swimming in the sea filled with these? (Some were the size of large dogs!)
ANSWER: This one is up to you but we guess it would have been quite scary!
